Resumé: PhD Context : The PhD will be financed by the Marie Curie European project “Smarten” for “Smart Management for Sustainable Human Environment”. In this project, we plan to investigate problems related to the physical layer of autonomous, reconfigurable and self-organizing wireless sensor networks. Main problems that are to be addressed are related to interference mitigation, asynchronism between sensors, resource allocation under energy constraints. Our contributions in the project will concern the Work package (WP) 1 and 2 which deals respectively with “Wireless Sensor Networks” and Sensor Signal Processing”. We will also contribute on the Multi-Disciplinary research Projects (MDP) 1 and 2 for respectively Structural Systems and Heritage and Infrastructure for the applications. Project management : The PhD student will have to help on the project management by writing reports (for : WP activity, MDP results, workshop activity, summer school activity and his career development) and by participating to meetings , summer schools and conferences. The PhD student work will be done on part on collaboration with BAM (Bundesanstalt Fuer Materialforschungs Und Pruefung - Federal Institute for Materials Research and. Testing). The PhD student will have to spend an internship of one month at BAM. The PhD students are called on the project Early Stage Researcher (ESR).
