Resumé: This PRD corresponds to an already-hired PhD student at Institut Pasteur as part of the H2020 ITN ALPACA grant.
The thesis started a few months ago and focuses on algorithms and data structures in bioinformatics, for the analysis of human pangenomics graphs.
The PhD student will study human pangenomes, which are collections of reference genomes, represented in graph form. Such a study is important for extending genomics analyses to diverse populations, and enables the exhaustive detection of variations between human genomes, and subsequent association analysis in the context of personalized medicine.
